I Am GPIO is on stage for the Bitaxe session: quiet, low-power, open-source mining hardware you can actually run at home. That matters because mining has become easy to imagine as an industrial-only activity, far away from the people who run nodes and verify blocks.
The session brings mining back within reach. Bitaxe can mine over Wi-Fi, pair with your own node and give builders hardware and firmware they can inspect instead of simply trust. I Am GPIO helps make the proof-of-work layer tangible again.
