Schnuartz is one of the hands in the SpecterDIY workshop, where self-custody moves from product boxes to parts, screens, buttons, firmware and signing flows. That is exactly the kind of workshop Noderunners should have: less mystique, more screws on the table.
The session is useful whether you plan to build a device or simply want to understand what a signer does. Schnuartz helps connect the physical build to the trust assumptions: what the device sees, what stays offline and what you still need to verify yourself.
