Magical Minisketch and the Lightning Gossip Network

Set reconciliation is an efficient technique to synchronize data across a network. In this presentation we review the role of gossip in the lightning network, and the current state of the network. We’ll then introduce some theory behind the Minisketch set reconciliation library, as well as how it’s used in practice. Finally, we’ll come back around to how this can improve the lightning network and what work is currently being done to integrate Minisketch into the lightning network protocol.
